FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What do the materials cost?

This class was created primarily to serve as a ministry to those who are unable to afford Leo’s services or who prefer to manage their money on their own.

We do not want cost to be a barrier for anyone to have access to the materials. We have found, however, that participants do not ascribe adequate value to the class if they pay nothing for it and, therefore, attend less often and do not follow through with homework to apply the materials to their lives.

The special price for churches is $60 per participant (Retail $300), with scholarships available for those who can’t afford it.

How is this class different from Financial Peace University (FPU) by Dave Ramsey?

Dave's FPU is an excellent one-size-fits-most blueprint for those whose primary goal is to get out of debt and learn new money habits.

This class offers two sections that help you learn to budget and get out of debt, then go deeper and wider, equipping you to create a personalized financial plan that aligns with your individual needs and values.

The other unique feature of this class is the focus on spiritual growth through Bible study. Our videos are focused on financial teaching that is aligned with Scripture, but the discussions are primarily Bible study intended to grow the group spiritually.

Would this material be a good fit for our small group or Sunday school hour?

Yes! These 30-ish minute video teachings walk participants through the key knowledge and tools needed for them to create their own comprehensive financial plan. Each video lesson has a corresponding Bible study with ice breakers, Scripture, and discussion questions meant to guide small groups through what the Bible says about money; wise stewardship of our time, gifts, and resources; treasuring Jesus above all else; trusting in Jesus to secure our “eternal estate” (did you catch my pun on estate planning?); and raising children in the gospel.

Our curriculum comes with a guide on how to best combine or condense sessions to fit into 4-12 weeks (or a seminar) as needed, with 8 weeks being optimal.

What’s in it for us? Is this a class or an infomercial?

This course aims to equip God’s people with the tools they need to honor Him with their money and succeed without needing a professional.

A few people who take this class may realize their financial situations are more complex than they want to handle on their own. Twice in our materials (mid-point & conclusion), there is a single slide offering a link to book a consult with Leo if they feel their situation requires a financial advisor.

Do you have a statement of faith?

We believe in the Apostles’ Creed.

We believe all Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (1Tim 3:16-17)

We are evangelical protestant Christians, but we do not promote any specific denominational or political views in our content- it isn’t relevant.

We believe God called us to be grateful stewards, knowing He is the giver of every good gift. We should be honest, hard-working, wisely preparing, cheerfully giving, and seeking to honor Him with our wealth.

We do not believe in a prosperity gospel nor that God calls everyone to give up all their possessions.

We cannot serve both Jesus and money as our master. We hope this class equips participants to better love and trust Jesus as their master while wisely building and stewarding wealth that can serve as a blessing to their family & community, the kingdom, and future generations.

Do we need someone financially savvy to lead a small group? Can Abundant Advisors lead it?

The leader can learn along with the group if they can help guide conversation using the provided questions. If questions come up that the leader can’t answer, they are welcome to email us, and we are happy to help!

If you want us to lead the class and our schedules align, we can lead a 4-week virtual small group or a condensed seminar version of the class with a minimum attendee count or separate fee.
